Why Us

Our team

Little Pearls qualified and caring EYFS educators.

We are a team of passionate and motivated early childhood educators. We believe in the importance of education at a very young age and capturing windows of opportunity for learning in pre-schoolers.

Dedicated Teachers

Our dedicated and experienced teachers are professional Early Childhood Educators, who also run extracurricular activities such as music and physical education and afternoon club.

Our early years teachers play an essential role in children’s development, providing high quality education. They deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage and Montessori methods using their knowledge and skills to ensure the children have access to high standards of learning, in a warm, safe environment. Our teachers will make a lasting positive impact on your child’s well-being and development, opening their minds to new concepts and ideas on a daily basis. Professional staff development is vital in the quality of our teaching practice, therefore, we firmly believe in regular workshops and relevant training programmes for all our staff.

Vision and values

Our vision is for young minds to be global representatives for innovative childhood education.

We provide for the community a stimulating and challenging environment, taking into account their values, culture and heritage, where enjoyment and fun are linked with discovery and learning. Children are taught to treat each other with positivity and respect, creating a happy environment for effective learning and play. With this confidence we will promote academic, personal, social, emotional, physical and creative abilities, allowing each child to reach their full potential in every way.

Inductions and transitions

At Little Pearls we take careful steps to support children and their families at points of transition starting from their induction into nursery through to the transfer of each nursery class to school. From a child’s induction and through nursery, the teacher uses baselines to measure a child’s development. This sets out the best programme in which we work together with parents to ensure that every child excels in nursery and becomes familiar with routines and staff.

Before a child is due to move up to each class or to school, their teacher will take them on visits, slowly building up the amount of time in their new classroom to ensure that they are able to settle appropriately with the support from adults and parents.

Starting school is a major step in a child’s life. At Little Pearls Nursery we help children cope with the reorganisation of their identity and status as they move from pre-school child to school child. The teacher will organise various activities such as exploring our ‘school box’ and dressing up in school uniform. Your child will take home ‘school sacks’ which contain educational activities such as science, math and literacy to use at home. With this prior knowledge and strategies the child moves easier from spectator to participant in school.

Health and Safety

Child welfare and Safeguarding:

We have a responsibility of safeguarding children and we do this by ensuring we are up to date with safeguarding laws and legislations governed by the Ministry of Education, JKM - Malaysia and Ofsted requirements through the UK. We have a safe-guarding officer and all staff are trained within safeguarding and child welfare. We follow the framework of every child matters which is structured around five outcomes and a key to a child’s well-being:

  • Stay safe – looking after the child’s welfare and ensuring a safe environment
  • Be healthy – safeguarding and promoting children’s health and well being
  • Enjoy and achieve – supporting children in their learning and development
  • Make a positive contribution – working together with parents, the community and children in nursery
  • Organisation – ensuring policy and procedures and practices are followed

Liaison Officer

Little Pearls Nursery provides each and every child with a caring and fun start to their school life. We strive for your children to be in a happy, fun, secure and nurturing environment where they can thrive under our care. Our Liaison Officer plays a key role for information, guidance and help with any issues that may arise and is a support for parents and children alike.

Special Educational Needs Inclusion

Little Pearls Nursery is an inclusive setting. We believe that all children have the opportunity to develop to their full potential alongside their peers in a mainstream environment. Our Special educational needs Coordinator (SENCO) will ensure all the needs of SEN pupils are met and they are supported to make good progress. If we think a child may require additional support in class, a meeting with the parents will take place to discuss how we can best support their child within the classroom.
